Every Postpartum Peace team member completes the PBi’s Placenta Encapsulation Specialist Training Program; and in depth, eight part course on the history of placenta encapsulation, traditional Chinese medicine, how and why placenta encapsulation works, proper safety practices, and the process of encapsulation.
Following PBi’s Training Program, each Postpartum Peace team member complete hands-on training through Postpartum Peace which includes shadowing the encapsulation process three times, and completing the encapsulation process under supervision with assessment.
Each team member of Postpartum Peace also has earned the title of Certified Placenta Encapsulation Specialist through PlacentaBenefits.Info. This requires additional training, client reviews, and safety education beyond the standard PBi PE Specialist training. To learn more about what it means to be Certified click here and here.
As Certified Placenta Encapsulation Specialists through PlacentaBenefits.Info we have been trained to follow OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Standards) standards for safety regarding bloodborne pathogens. OSHA Standard 1910.1030 Bloodborne Pathogens.
We also have been trained in the disinfection and wasted disposal guidelines of: EPA (Environmental Protection Agency): Environmental Management Guide for Small Laboratories. This training is specifically focused on the section on Biological Waste Management Program.
CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Office of Health and Safety, Biosafety Branch): Use of Bleach in the Prevention of Transmission of HIV in Health Care Settings
We also maintain a current food handler’s safety certificate specifically intended for private chefs through the state of Missouri.
