Although I serve the Kansas City Metropolitan Area for all their placenta encapsulation needs, it is important to stay on top of any news relating to placentas. As placenta encapsulation grows in popularity many policies will change through out the United States. I haven’t had much of a problem with hospitals in the area releasing the placentas but I have heard some horror stories of moms who needed court orders to have their placentas released from hospitals. Some women have had a delay with the release of the placenta and by the time the hospitals released the placenta it had been sent to pathology and soaked in formaldehyde (which makes it unable to be encapsulated). By sharing articles about placenta policies like this one it is my goal to educated people about placenta encapsulation so that all women may have the opportunity for a healthy postpartum recovery.
